3) stay current in reading monthly bulletins online. See policy below about falling behind on monthly bulletins

Pre-registration is required. To register for a VIRTUS Training session go to www.virtus.org for a complete list of sessions. Create a profile/account and then sign up for a session. Before doing the background check, please contact Sr. Annette, our Local Safe Environment Coordinator, (agrisley@holyangels.cc) to obtain a “token” (code) to be used for payment.

The Archdiocese of Cincinnati defines a regular volunteer is an adult who is not a cleric or employee (for example, a catechist, scout leader, coach, server coordinator, etc.) who functions in regular relationship with children. This includes interns, student teachers, and others in similar capacities.A regular volunteer is one who has contact with children: 1) on an overnight event, 2) on at least a monthly basis; or in a multi-day program (e.g. Vacation Bible School). A regular volunteer has contact with children at least once a month, or participates in any overnight event with children. It does not include the occasional volunteer, such as a driver or chaperon whose contact with children is less than one hour a month for individual activities that are not overnight.

Archdiocesan Policy Regarding Background checks: As of January 1, 2014, all volunteers and employees whose background checks are more than 5 years old must complete a background check through Selection.com. Holy Angels will pay for background checks for our own employees and volunteers. Contact Sr. Annette, Holy Angels’ Safe Environment Coordinator, to receive a payment token (code).

Archdiocesan Policy (updated May, 2014):

Regarding those who fall behind in their monthly bulletins:

All persons who have attended a VIRTUS® Protecting God’s Children Training Session must keep up with the continuing education component of VIRTUS® by reading all monthly VIRTUS® Training Bulletins. If a person falls behind by three or more Bulletins (whether in consecutive months or not) he / she must “catch up.” If the same person does catch up, but then falls behind by three or more Bulletins a second time, the cleric, employee or volunteer will need to attend another VIRTUS® live Training Session before he / she can have further contact with children.
